Support for our Balanise Family

For many years Quota Carindale has offered support to a family in Bali.
This family is dad Jimmy, mum Yenny, daughters Eka, Enda and Anna and their son Coman.
We made contact with this family through one of our charter members Margaret. She and her friend Vicki first visited Bali in 1995 and as tourists were looking for a driver to assist them to see as much of Bali as possible. Jimmy was that driver. He was a very friendly person and so proud of his country and went out of his way to help them.

Jimmy and family in Bali supported by Quota Carindale

On one of the many trips to Bali  Margaret and Vicki were staying just down the street from the Suri Club when the 2002 Bali bombings occurred. It was an horrific time to be in Bali, Jimmy arrived at the hotel to ensure they were ok. A great example of his character. He was so upset for all of those affected as well as worrying about the Balinese people that depended on the tourist trade and how they would get by in the following months, as it would take a long time for the tourists to come back to Bali.

In the ensuring period Jimmy found it difficult to get work, as no tourist meant no call for drivers. As a result Margaret and Vicki started to collect money from friends in Australia to send to Bali. She approached Quota Carindale and the members agreed to helping Jimmy and the club has been sending funds on a yearly basis since then. These funds are used to help with the children's education. Carindale members are very willing to continue their support of Jimmy and his family as we are assured of the benefit of the funds we send to Bali.
