Welcome to Quota Carindale News and Events first blog.
This blog has been set up to give you an update on what we are doing at Quota Carindale.

We have just completed our biggest fund raiser of the year. The Craft and Gift Fair, it is usually held at the Carina Leagues Club but as they were refurbishing we moved to the Carina Bowls Club. This is our 8th year and we get better and better each year at making this event something that everyone wants to attend.

Here is a little background on how this event came about.

Eight years ago the convenors of the Craft and Gift Fair Janette Taylor and Zena Kennedy had spent a very slow, hot, day trying to sell raffle tickets for our club. By the end of the day they realised that people are so sick of putting their hands in their pockets for charities.
So over a cup of coffee they decided there must be a better way to make money for their charities that appeal to the public. A craft fair was suggested. So it was decided that this is what they would try. The club booked a room at the Carina Leagues Club and managed to gather together a very talented group of stall holders.
The day went well and we made $500. So much more fun than selling raffle tickets. All the money went to Aspergers Syndrome and Clef Pals. It was decided that this would be an annual event, held at the same time each year. Last year was the best ever and we are looking to top that this year. Once we have paid all our bills our treasurer will give us the final tally so fingers crossed we top last years. Stay posted......
